Chapter 12: Gases
Have you ever wondered what keeps a hot air balloon in the sky? When gases are heated, their molecules rapidly expand, increasing volume. At the base of every hot air balloon is a heater, which warms the air in the balloon and causes the molecules of gas to spread further apart. This increase in volume decreases the density, and lifts the balloon into the air. In this chapter, we will discuss this and other unique properties of gases as well as the laws that govern them.
